Kids Dance Class List

Our kids dance class list has grown to include all ages and just about any style of dance you can imagine. If you have any questions about any of these class descriptions, call the studio at (916) 419-7079!

Creative Movement:
This is a 45 minute pre-combo class for dancers 2 ½ to 4 years old. While we “leap like frogs”, “hop like bunnies” and “spin like helicopters”, large motor skills, strength and coordination are being developed. They learn the fundamentals of basic ballet/jazz/tap and even a little hip hop in a “creative setting”. Please wear comfortable dance clothes in any black/pink combination. Ballet shoes are required and please no dress up clothes allowed.  

Ballet/Tap Combo:
This is a 45 minute combination class of pre-ballet and tap for dancers 4-7 years old. Dancers use their imagination dancing with props and learning proper feet positioning. We request dancers wear any pink/black combination of dance clothes, ballet and tap shoes.

Ballet/Tap 2 Combo:
This is a 45 minute intermediate/advanced combination of ballet and tap for dancers 5 years and older. Dancers have been in the ballet/tap combo classes for 3+ years. Dancers will be perfecting their ballet/tap technique and also learning performance combinations. We request dancers wear any combination of pink/black dance clothes. Ballet and Tap shoes required. Hair must be worn up and out of face.

Ballet 1:
This is a 45 minute ballet class for dancers ages 5-7 years old. Dancers warm up, stretch at the barre, learn across the floor and performance ballet combinations. We request dancers wear any combination of pink/black dance clothes. Ballet shoes required. Hair must be worn in a bun or up and out of face.

Ballet 2:
This is an hour ballet class for dancers ages 7 and up. Dancers warm up, stretch at the barre, learn across the floor and performance ballet combinations. We request dancers wear any combination of pink/black dance clothes. Ballet shoes required. Hair must be worn in a bun or up and out of face.

Ballet 3:
This is an hour ballet class for dancers ages 9 and up OR with more than 3 years of ballet training. Dancers warm up, stretch at the barre, learn across the floor and performance ballet combinations. We request dancers wear any combination of pink/black dance clothes. Ballet shoes required. Hair must be worn in a bun or up and out of face.

Jazz 1:
This is an hour jazz class for dancers 5-7 years old. Dancers warm up, stretch, learn across the floor and performance jazz combinations. Dancers may wear any color dance clothes. Jazz shoes required. Hair must be worn in a bun or up and out of face.

Jazz 2:
This is an hour jazz class for dancers ages 7 and older. Dancers warm up, stretch, learn across the floor and performance jazz combinations. Dancers may wear any color dance clothes. Jazz shoes required. Hair must be worn in a bun or up and out of face.

Beginning Contemporary Jazz:
This is an hour long class for ages 6 and up that mixes jazz technique with innovative new age contemporary tricks and choreography. Together we work on modern fluidity and staccato and intricate movements within our dancing. Every student has the chance to find their own style of dancing through improvisation exercises.  Prerequisite of 2 years classical ballet

Contemporary Jazz:

This is an hour long class for ages 8 and up that mixes jazz technique with innovative new age contemporary tricks and choreography. Together we work on modern fluidity and staccato and intricate movements within our dancing. Every student has the chance to find their own style of dancing through improvisation exercises. Prerequisite of 2 years classical ballet

Pee Wee Hip Hop:
This is a 45 minute hip hop class for dancers 3 to 6 years old. Dancers are required to wear loose clothing that will not restrict movement. Please no skirts or dresses. Clean soled tennis shoes or dance sneakers are required.

Hip Hop:
This is a 45 minute hip hop class for dancers 6 years and older. We offer beginning, teen and advanced hip hop. Learn the hottest dance moves with a funky twist.

Variety Arts:
This is a class that fuses jazz dance with acting. This class of ages 6 and up learns and performs many dances and combinations ranging from swing to samba along with jazz technique.  We focus on strengthening the dancers’ characters that they play. 

Variety Arts 2:
This is a higher level of our Variety Arts class that fuses jazz dance with acting. This class also learns and performs many dances and combinations ranging from swing to samba along with jazz technique.  We focus on strengthening the dancers’ characters that they play.

Pre-Pointe Ballet:
This is an hour long class we offer to our aspiring ballerinas separate from regular ballet technique to assure they are ready for pointe. This class allows us ample time to help students build the strength and alignment necessary for pointe work. It also helps assess readiness which lessons the risk of injury once students move up to pointe. We work slowly but efficiently with our kids so they don't develop bad habits.

Our adult fitness class offerings are brimming with good stuff. Whether you're a die hard or a newbie, we have something to stretch your leotard:

MAX MUSCLE® Bootcamp:
An amazing class that uses balls, bands and your own body strength for a challenging and highly effective total body workout! Great for all levels of fitness, age, male or female! This class is designed to cater to each individual’s goals and limits while all the participants motivate each other and have a blast! HooRah!

Balletone®: (RETURNING SOON)
Balletone® Standing Flow is an upbeat fusion-style conditioning class designed especially for the non-dancer. It creates a challenging mix of muscle conditioning, stretching and cardio exercises and is designed to intensely develop core strength, muscular endurance and dynamic balance & flexibility without the use of equipment or props. Balletone® keeps you moving, motivated and mentally focused with a fun and effective workout that will lengthen, strengthen and energize the entire body leaving no muscle untouched!

Adult Jazz:
Have fun and get an involuntary workout while finding and releasing your inner dancer during our adult jazz class! Everyone is welcome - Dancers and Non-Dancers alike!
